ABC is a global initiative dedicated to advancing the knowledge and skills of specialists and fellows in biliopancreatic diseases. Professor Mohamed Ali El-Nady is a Consultant on Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at Cairo University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. He is an active board member of the European Group of Endoscopic Ultrasonography, head of the biliopancreatic committee of the Arab Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and member of French and European societies of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
The course consists of 4 comprehensive modules: (1) Fundamentals and Core Knowledge covering anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology; (2) Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) including anatomy, diagnostics, FNA/FNB, and interventional procedures; (3) ERCP covering cannulation techniques, sphincterotomy, stenting, and complication management; (4) Therapeutic Endoscopy for HPB diseases including stricture management and palliative interventions.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to: (1) Investigate, diagnose, and recommend appropriate management strategies for HPB diseases; (2) Perform advanced endoscopic procedures safely and effectively; (3) Recognize expected outcomes, prevent complications, and manage adverse events; (4) Provide holistic patient care across different procedure phases.
The course employs diverse teaching methods including interactive lectures and expert discussions, live case demonstrations, simulation and hands-on practice, small-group tutorials and case-based learning, online modules for self-paced review, hands-on training in models and simulators, live demonstration sessions with expert commentary, supervised practice in accredited centers, and observership opportunities with international faculty.
